Hello and welcome!
My name is Amanda Gillespie. I have been an educator for thirteen years, all of which have been with the Canton City School District. I began my career in 2007 at Hartford Middle School as a 7th-grade science teacher. From there, I received training in Project Lead the Way and went on to also teach 7th and 8th-grade Gateway to Technology in the proceeding years. Ultimately, when Hartford transformed into a STEAM school, I focused solely on engineering, primarily biomedical engineering, and computer science.
I am a proud 1998 graduate of Portsmouth West High School and a 2002 graduate of Shawnee State University with a Social Science degree. Upon relocating to Canton, Ohio, I substitute taught for Massillon City Schools. This serendipitous event changed my career ambitions from medicine to teaching. I received my middle school 4-9 science and social studies teaching credentials from Kent State University and my Masters in Instructional Technology from University of Akron. As mentioned previously, I have also trained in Project Lead the Way, Gateway to Technology curricular modules.
This website is to serve as a resting place for evidence to satisfy my Ohio Teacher Evaluation requirements for the 2019-2020 school year.
